Gangdong-gu, Seoul, announced on the 13th that it has visited the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in connection with the construction of the GTX-D route only in the Gimpo Janggi-Buchon Sports Complex. About 20 people from Gangdong-gu and Hanam-si GTX-D route co-hosting committee, consisting of Gangdong-gu District mayor Lee Jung hun, Hanam Mayor Kim Sang-ho, and residents' representatives, announced a resolution the previous day at the entrance of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. "The government has been pushing for unilateral housing supply policies, such as deciding to build a nesting house, but the only price that comes back is explosive population growth and traffic hell," the committee said. "We need to reflect diesel in Gangdong-gu and Hanam-si on the GTX-D route." Earlier, Gangdong-gu District conducted a signature campaign since March and August last year to stop at GTX-D Gangdong-gu District, drawing more than 100,000 residents. Mayor Kim and other bidding committees read out a resolution calling for reflection of the GTX-D route through Gangdong-gu-Hanam-si, and held a protest rally by expressing their opinions. At the meeting, Mayor Kim expressed three justifications for insisting on reflecting the GTX-D route via Gangdong-Hanam-si. Mayor Kim Sang-ho ▷ First, there is a good reason for improving the quality of life and balanced development of 1.25 million citizens in Gimpo, Gangdong, and Hanam, which connects the western and eastern metropolitan areas. ▷ In order to properly function and play a role as a second metropolitan railway, it must lead to the 68km line jointly proposed by Hanam City and Gyeonggi Province. ▷The last one emphasized that B/C (benefit from cost), which is the core of the feasibility study of the GTX-D route, was 1.02, which resulted in a business feasibility. "The announcement of the reduction by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has removed the link between Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and Incheon," said Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District. "We strongly urge the city to readjust its route and reflect it in the fourth national railway network." |
