Gangdong-gu, Seoul, announced on the 14th that it will recruit more than 30 households and 9 households in the jurisdiction who want to install food waste RFID machines on a first-come, first-served basis from the 12th to improve the food waste reduction and emission environment. Food waste RFID meter calculates emissions by generation, objectively calculates and charges emission fees by generation rather than existing standard waste bags and complexes (payment certificate), and opens and closes only when discharging, reducing odor and dirt generation rate. Since 2014, Gangdong-gu District has been operating 721 units in 99 (41,431 households) apartments by pushing for a project to support the installation of RFID payers for apartments (more than 30 households) and has had an effect of 30% emission reduction. In particular, from 2019, one unit was installed and operated in 45 (638 households) general houses to improve the environment for food waste emissions in general housing districts. Residents who participated in the pilot project showed high satisfaction with the reduction in the generation of drinking water and odors caused by the use of existing standard waste bags. This year, a total of 100 food waste RFID machines will be supported, and ▲ Apartment (30 households or more) wishing to apply for a copy of the resolution and minutes of the residents' representative meeting ▲ General house (9 households or more with free space in private property) can be submitted by mail or visit Gangdong-in. In order to select objective and fair RFID support, Gangdong-gu District will hold a selection committee consisting of four representatives of ▲ apartment houses ▲ one RFID meter expert ▲ two public officials to select houses to receive RFID meter support. The final selected house will be provided with RFID meter installation and maintenance costs, and the food waste disposal fee will be settled by adding it to the management fee next month after using it as a post-paid system, and ordinary houses will be charged with transportation cards supported by the district.
