On the 9th, Gangdong-gu (the mayor Lee Jung-hun) announced that it is spurring toward a child-friendly city without blind spots through a support project for constantly discovering children at risk. The “Our Child Guardian Support Project”, which has been in place since 2017, is a policy initiated to solve the crisis by discovering children in welfare blind spots and utilizing local public and private resources. For the past year, the district conducted case management centering on the Dong Community Social Security Council for 116 people who were requested for economic, psychological, and social assistance, using the same unit resources such as the fire station and the police station. ▲ 78 cases of psychological counseling support ▲ 260 cases of economic support ▲ A total of 1,604 other services such as child meals and sanitary products were linked to establish a meticulous safety system that allows the region to protect children by itself. Among children under the age of 18, schools, childcare facilities, residents and fire departments request children in need of economic, psychological, and social assistance such as maladjustment, neglect, physical and emotional abuse, and malnutrition to the local resident center to find targets. For the requested household, after grasping the status of the guardian and family related to the child, home visits and investigations are conducted with the local community security council, police, and fire departments, if necessary, and through the same community social security council. By establishing a service plan focusing on integrated problem-solving through case meetings, we provide customized support and partnership services from various public-private organizations, linkage services, and 143 types of public welfare benefit services in 20 types. In addition, services such as medical expenses and scholarship support, mom and mom educational care service are supported in connection with Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital, Gangdong Songpa Education Support Office, Gangdong Police Station, Gangdong Fire Department, and Gangdong Education Welfare Center for the use of resources in various private and public areas. Our child keeper project aims to prevent child abuse incidents in advance, solve psychological, social, and economic problems, and contribute to the growth of the whole child by keeping all resources such as schools, social welfare facilities, tutors and class leaders, and public institutions to care for children at risk.
