Subject Residents Want Additional Women's Safety Delivery Boxes in Gangdong-gu!

Gangdong-gu District (mayor Lee Jung hun), the No. 1 policy to promote the convenience of residents, has additionally installed a women's safety courier box at the Gildong Community Center, which is being operated as part of the creation of a women's safety village.

Areas and studio apartments where women are concentrated to prevent crimes, Women's safety delivery boxes, which are mainly installed and operated in multi-generation areas, are receiving great response from residents as demand for non-face-to-face use increases due to COVID-19.

In January, residents who felt uncomfortable had requested to reinstall the parcel box because the existing parcel box was removed due to the construction of a new complex building in Gil-dong.

Accordingly, the district reviewed the demand for use and installation of Gildong area, where multi-family housing is concentrated, and set up a women's safety delivery box at the Gildong Community Center in about a month after consultation with the Seoul Metropolitan Government. The Gildong delivery box has been in operation since March 18.

Jung**, 28, a resident of Dunchon-dong, said with a smile, "I was very sorry that it was difficult to leave the parcel at the Gildong Community Center without any safety. I am glad that there is a new women's parcel box."

A resident who intends to use a safe delivery box may place an order by designating the delivery box as the place of receipt when purchasing goods. If the courier keeps the item in the delivery box and enters the recipient's contact information, the authentication number will be sent, and the resident can enter the authentication number he/she received in the delivery box to receive the item.
It is available to all residents as well as women and operates 24 hours and 365 days. Storage fee is free for 48 hours, but if it exceeds 48 hours, 1,000 won per day will be charged.

Currently, a total of 15 women's safety delivery boxes, including additional Gil-dong delivery boxes, are in operation, and the detailed location of the delivery boxes can be found on the Gangdong-gu Office website.

"The 15th Women's Safety Delivery Box will be installed due to the valuable opinions of the residents," said Lee Jung-hun, head of Gangdong-gu Office. "We will continue to listen to the residents' stories and reflect their opinions."
