Subject Gangdong-gu provides medical support in connection with the local community to Dream Start children

Gang Dong-gu (Gu Mayor Lee Jung hun) announced that it decided to provide dental disease tests, growth tests, and diagnosis to Dream Start children in cooperation with Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital, and to support medical expenses.
Gu has been supporting medical expenses with Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital since 2013 so that children in economically difficult families can grow up healthy.
When a child in need of dental treatment receives treatment through a case meeting, Dream Start in Gangdong-gu will support the amount incurred less than 250,000 won, and the amount incurred in excess of 250,000 won will be supported by the hospital fund.
In addition, Dream Start in Gangdong-gu will support up to 100,000 won or less incurred for children who need treatment after a growth test, and hospital funds will support for incurred amounts exceeding 100,000 won. However, only 20 patients for dental treatment and 20 patients for growth treatment can be supported for medical expenses.
The support period is from April to November, and Dream Start in Gangdong-gu is planning to actively discover short stature and obese children and children in need of dental treatment by monitoring whether children are living healthy at home and link them to Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital.
In addition, it will be linked so that Dream Start children who need eye exams and glasses can receive support through the glasses support project for teenagers of vulnerable groups in Gangdong-gu.
Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, "We will take care of everything from case management to medical institution linkage so that we can detect and provide the early treatment on the physical health problems of growing children."
