Gangdong-gu, Seoul, signed a business agreement with related agencies on April 1 to establish an early detection and response system for child abuse. In October last year, the district directly conducts investigations, judgments, and child protection measures on child abuse sites due to the revision of the Child Welfare Act and the Child Abuse Punishment Act, but cooperation between police and medical institutions is essential. As a result, a public-private partnership network was established after consultation with related agencies (▲Gangdong Police Station ▲ Gangdong Kyunghee University Hospital ▲ Right Seoul Hospital ▲ On Mom Mental Health Clinic) to preemptively and systematically respond to child abuse. Gangdong-gu shall provide medical treatment, inspection, examination requests and medical expenses for children affected, and Gangdong Police Station shall provide follow-up management for the receipt of reports of child abuse, emergency protection and safety. Gangdong Kyung Hee University Hospital, the right Seoul Hospital, and Onma Mental Health Medical Center will play the role of priority medical treatment, physical and mental examination, examination, and consultation for the affected children. The Convention designated medical institutions exclusively for child abuse.
