Subject Subway Line 5 'Hannam Line' starts operating on the 27th

Hanam City Hall (Deokpung/Sinjang) Station – Hanam Geomdansan Station, which is the second stage section of the Hanam Subway Line 5 in Gyeonggi, started its first operation at 5:30 am on the 27th.

Following the opening of the second stage, the first stage section, which began operation in August, “Misa Station – Hanam Pungsan Station”, followed by the“Hanam Line" of Subway Line 5, has been opened.

The city believes that the full opening will significantly shorten the commute time for citizens of the original city center who have jobs in downtown Seoul.

It can be reached from Hanam Geomdansan Station to Sangil, Seoul in 12 minutes, and when transferring to Cheonho Station, it is possible to access Jamsil Station within 30 minutes and Gangnam Station within 50 minutes.

Vehicles are 8 cars, and they run every 10 minutes during rush hour and every 12 to 24 minutes during normal times.

On the other hand, the city held a'first train ride experience event' to commemorate the opening of the second phase of the subway line 5'Hannam Line'.

In the event that replaced the opening ceremony to prevent the spread of Corona 19, major local people and citizens, including Mayor Sang-ho Kim, National Assembly member Choi Jong-yoon, city council chairman Bang Mi-sook, and city councilor, were present at the event.

Mayor Kim welcomed the citizens who took the first train, and gave a bouquet of encouragement to the engineer running the first train.

A resident of Sinjangdong, who boarded the subway for the first time, said, "I have been waiting for the subway to enter the original city for a very long time."

A family in Gimpo City also visited and drew attention to open the “Hanam Line” together.

After taking a commemorative photo with Mayor Kim, they said, "I came here because I wanted to see the children open the subway."

Mayor Kim also boarded the first subway line and greeted the citizens one by one.

Mayor Kim said to the citizens, “I sincerely thank the citizens of the original city for their patience even though they were uncomfortable due to the opening later than expected.” Until now, we will open the era of'five railroads (five railroads)'.”

The Hanam Line is a line that connects a total of 7.7 km from Sangil Station in Gangdong, Seoul, the last station of Line 5 to Gangil Station, Misa Station, Hanam Pungsan Station, Hanam City Hall (Deokpung/Sinjang) Station, and Hanam Geomdansan Station.

Construction began in 2015, and the total project cost was 980 billion won, of which 83.3 billion won was invested.

Prior to the opening of the Hanam Line, the city has been carrying out projects to revitalize each history, such as a citizens' participatory group consisting of about 90 citizens in February last year, “A street you want to walk in connection with the surrounding area,” and “creating a cultural exhibition space within the history”.
