Gangdong-gu District (mayor Lee Jung hun) will run the 2021 Gangdong After School, which consults elementary, middle and high school students on their learning and career paths to resolve the widening educational gap due to the prolonged Corona 19. With the recent increase in the proportion of remote classes due to Corona 19, the educational gap between schools and individuals is deepening. This has also led to growing emotional and psychological anxiety among students and parents. In response, Gangdong-gu will run "Gangdong After School" for elementary, middle and high school students from low-income households to support learning, career counseling, self-introduction, and interview consulting. Gangdong After School, which operated online and offline last year, provided 408 consulting services to 34 students from 15 schools by March this year. In particular, last year, not only middle and high school students but also elementary school mentees expanded their consulting targets and received positive responses. In addition, customized learning guidance and counseling were conducted for each student through pre-diagnosis of mentee's learning type and personality, and the continuous collaboration of college student mentors and local education specialist Education Counselor showed excellent consulting effect. 2021 Gangdong After School provides continuous consulting to students who are currently participating in the program to pursue long-term learning guidance and career counseling effectiveness. In addition, a total of 60 students will participate in the new semester by recruiting additional elementary, middle and high school students through recommendations from schools and institutions. The district plans to operate one-on-one consulting to support each student, actively recruit college mentors attending education colleges and teachers, and provide competency-building education for instructors. In addition, real-time online classes using Gangdong Remote Classification Platform will be conducted to prevent Corona19, and various non-face-to-face methods such as phone calls and face-talk will be actively used. "We hope Gangdong After School will help students and parents who are suffering from the educational gap caused by Corona 19," said Lee Jung-hun, head of Gangdong-gu Office. "We will systematically operate all courses to help students guarantee their right to study and psychological stability." |
