Last thursday, “Happy to be together” Gangdong-gu and Mayor Lee Jung-hun visited senior centre which was closed due to Covid-19 and had ‘Community event for the seniors’. ‘The Healthy Prevention for the virus’, ‘The Warm and Nice Meal’, and ‘The Happy Delivery’ was the three main events. The Seoul city central Gangdong senior office staff and the participants for ‘the re-hiring the retiree’ program also join the event. As the social education program for under 10 people is now launching, the ‘The Healthy Prevention for the virus’ is to do quarantine activity in the senior centre so that seniors can safely use their place and enjoy the program. The ‘The Warm and Nice Meal’ is to prepare meal box for the seniors who are suffering mobility trouble. Total 72 seniors were in needed, so with the ‘the re-hiring the retiree’ participants the meal box were nicely prepared. Also by considering the situation that face to face activity is not safe, the meal box was delivered directly to the seniors houses untacked by ‘The Happy Delivery’. “As the Covid-19 is getting worse and worse, we do care for the seniors who are having trouble with the outdoor activity. We are really glad that by quarantine event, we can enhance the safety and can happily prepare places for them.” Said maylor Lee Jung-hun. He also added that “We thank everyone who participated in this hard time to improve senior’s life.” We need to have extra caution to others in nowadays’ tough situation. |
