The Gangdong Prehistoric Culture Festival, which is the representative festival of Gangdong-gu, proved the excellence of the festival by winning the Consumer Administration Division for three consecutive years in the "2018 Korea Consumer Awards"

The Korea Consumer Awards strives to promote the interests of consumers, find companies, individuals and organizations that have competitiveness, reliability and public interest, and presents opportunities for consumers to make the right choices so that it promotes the motivation of creating sustainable policies.

The Gangdong Prehistoric Culture Festival, which started in 1996, was held 23 times this year. This festival is the only Neolithic cultural festival held in Seoul, and its identity is distinctive and original. In addition, 400,000 residents come to this festival every year with various programs of this festiva.l so It has become the largest festival in the region due to the high accumulation of tourists.

In particular, last year, the Kangdong Prehistoric Cultural Festival won the 'Pinnacle Award' sponsored by the World Festivals Association for four consecutive years and has established itself as a representative festival of the Republic of Korea, which is acknowledged globally across the country.

The Mayor Lee Hae-Sik said, "As a national brand festival to enjoy the history and culture of the Neolithic era, I will continue to develop it so that the Gangdong prehistoric cultural festival can firmly establish its status."

The 23rd Gangdong Prehistoric Cultural Festival will be held in October in Amsa-dong, Seoul. Gangdong-gu is preparing various professional programs such as the parade of primitive scenic streets with about 1,500 residents, the experience of eating the Neolithic food, the special exhibition of the excavated relics from Amsadong ruins for visitors to the museum to enjoy and be aware of the value of the Amasa-dong ruins in Seoul.
