Subject Gang dong office's global internship program with foreign students.

For the latest some years, the number of foreign students and businessmen who come to Korea is gradually increasing. With this global trend, Gang dong register operated a special program for the first time in the municipality. The 'global internship' program enforced by the department of Social and Economic affairs of Gang dong office is that. It was planned and operated for the purpose of offering foreign students the opportunity to experience Korean self-government system, and make a new wave to Gang dong office's administrative services. During the 2017 winter, 8 foreign students, who were cherry-picked through the high competition of 15 to 1. These students were from various countries and various cultural back ground like Kenya, China, Hungary, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, and many more. For 4 weeks, students were placed in jobs, especially which are related to their own major fields. They not only worked at library, organic animal breeding center, regional children's center, but visited droned village, Amsa ruins site to understand well about Korea and Gang dong register. Each of them described their internship experience a meaningful and unforgettable time. Also one of the participants said that it was nice to have chance to share about her motherland. Gang dong office has already launched global internship program twice, and is planning to keep supporting ongoing interaction between foreign students and local working department and young people of Gang dong. It seems apparent that Gang dong office’s global internship program is surely worthy program, which makes positive effect for both foreign students’ experience and local advancement.
