Subject Gangdong-gu, Operating "Visit Animal School"

Gangdong-gu said it will provide a < 2018 Animals School for third graders in elementary schools from April to November. Prior to this, the participating classes will be selected on a first-come first-served basis until March 23.

< Visiting Animal School > is an education that aims to foster a sense of coexistence with animals starting in 2015 based on a proper understanding of the five freedoms of animals and principles of animal protection. For the third grade of elementary school, the instructor, " KARA, " will go directly to the classroom to give lectures.

Last year, about 4,000 children attended the class, with 15 elementary schools and 2,045 students in the district participating.

As the number of classes is increasing year after year, the number of students will almost double this year from the previous year, and students will be recruited on a first-come first-come-first-served basis.

The classes last about two hours, and are a participatory class consisting of children with real name quizzes, board games, watching video clips, and making bird savers.

Koo said, " Visiting animal schools are an opportunity to cultivate a sense of responsibility and a sense of coexistence by raising our children's sense of well-being and caring for weak beings, " adding, " It is a good opportunity to build a sense of coexistence. " like this, by educating students about animals through interesting activities, students are starting to have more interest in animal habitats, or how to protect the animals which are in danger.
