Subject Gangdonggu, being better city for women

As the night advances, the park is likely to turn into a safety blind spot.
However, at Seongnaeni Park in Gangdong District, there is no need to be afriad of taking a walk at night,
thanks to the smart bench lighting up the pitch-black night.
You can walk on trails with a relief, take a break on the bench. This bench looks like any bench on the outside, but it has a special ability.
Four solar panels on a bench (250W) are sunlit to create electricity.
After dark, the lights on the sides and bottom of the bench lights up and shine the darkness of the park!
It deserves to be called as a solar smart bench since it also has emergency bells and wired/wireless smart phone charging capabilities to alert you to emergencies.
Currently, as a part of the women's safety project, only one of Seongnaeni Park is test-operated.
We will gradually expand the system into all of the parks in Gangdong gu by reflecting responses and opinions of residents!
Gangdong-gu had established the Women Friendly Cities Act last April, and are working on a variety of projects to create a better urban environment for women.
Last May, after a crime involving a woman in a public toilet near Kangnam station, Gangdong District Office installed the Smart Safety Zone (Beacon) for the first time in Seoul as part of its efforts to prepare for female safety measures.
In the public restrooms, parks, and public parking lots in the jurisdiction, up to 139 beacons have been enlarged and installed using wireless local area networks to help eliminate safety blind spots.
Also, Gangdong District has designated100 supporters for female friendly city to monitor the inconveniences of life from the females' points of view and reflect various proposals and opinions in the policies.
Gangdong-gu, working hard to make women friendly city, was finally named a "Women Friendly City" by Ministry of Gender Equality and Family last December!
Gangdong District, which has recently signed a women-friendly city business agreement with Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, is planning to work on 73 female-friendly core projects by 2021.
Gangdong-gu takes full advantage of the local environment and resources to try harder to create a women friendly city.
Gangdong-gu is always open to your various opinions!
Why don't we make a safe and happy city for all women and family together?
