Welcome to ‘Seung Ryong’s House’, coexistence of art and culture.
Starting from March, there will be cultural art programs from home recipes to animation clip books
‘Seung Ryong’s House’( Cheonho Road 168 65-29), located in a the residential area of KangPool comic street at Gang Dong gu, recently did a make huge make over.
An ally 150m from the forth exit of fifth lane subway Gangdong station, there is a Kangpool comic street that is almost a world inside webtoons. There, ‘Seung Ryong’s House’ takes place, which is a public center named after the main character in the webtoon ‘Dumb’. The first floor is a café and above is a comic room, and the third and the final floor is a work station for young webtoon artists.
Last January, the manager and the artists coming in at the 3rd floor was newly selected. Plus, the café that only provided coffee, now transformed into a real proper café with sweet desserts that goes well with the rich aroma of coffees like chocolate and strawberry tiramisu. In the work station on the 3rd floor, two new 3D animation artists are intent on their works as well as the webtoon artists that were already there.
From March, the cultural art programs for the residents, will be starting. It will be a talent donation that the people can use their specialized major. At the 1st floor, the café manager prepared a class for adults, where they can learn home café and baking that they can easily do by themselves at their home. People can learn lots of easy recipes of cookies, coffee or even beer. Also, the young artists designed a program that teens can participate in. Teens can experience unique programs with the artists and take a step closer to their dream jobs.
‘Seung Ryong’s House’ is open every Monday to Saturday and the café is opens at 10 a.m. and the comic room opens at 1 p.m. for everyone’s use.
