Gangdong-gu their budget by approximately 4 % compared to 2017 to proactively respond to the changing educational environment and systematically support schooling. Gangdong-gu has been striving to provide high quality education services to reflect the voice of students, parents and schools. They organized ‘ 2018 Education Security Assistance Advisory Council ’ on December 21-22 for Special Schools and 33 kindergartens to establish ‘ Educational Security Review Committee ’ on December 9 and organized ‘ Educational Security Review Board ’ on a thorough basis. Ten major business have been confirmed to be supported : ▲Creating safe school environment, Operating specialized programs by school (1.6.6 billion won) ▲Supporting for the rearing of prestigious high schools (700 million won) ▲Supporting kindergartens (180 million won) ▲Eco-friendly free school lunch, proving high quality food (4.3.5 billion won) ▲Seoul innovation education center project promotion (1.5 billion won) ▲Healthy school project (151 million won) ▲Promoting “Making good middle school“ project (300 million won) ▲Managing ”Needs Call counselor (counseling volunteers)“ for Middle school student (150 million won) ▲Supporting foreign language learning (80 million) ▲Supporing Citizen, youth participation budget (67 million won) In 2018, budget for creating safe school environment, managing specialized programs by school has increased by 460 million won, making it possible to customized education project that suits each school’s distinctive characteristics. Gangdong-gu replaces aged school broadcasting equipments to respond education flow that attaches importance to multimedia, information eduction. Thus, improves facility which students always use. Also, they increase support for various programs such as book debate, learning musical instrument, activating after school classes. Furthermore, they keep operating Gangdong innovation education center project, which has been operated fo 4 years. They work on 34 project of 4 province (town-school relating project, youth autonomy activity, civil governance, area-specialized business), investing approximately 1.5 billion won. This year, they are planning to support traditional play which is related to elementary school attend classroom, career experience education, free term class for middle school 1th graders, by attaching importance to innovation education’s universality securing. They support 700 million won for rearing of prestigious high schools” to enforce school competitiveness and resurrect pubilc education. Gangdong-gu has been working on this project since 2009 to enable students to receive intersting and high-quality pubilic education. This year they will work to create educational enviroment where each student can show up their own individuality by supporing 121 school-specialized program through rearing future major capabilities and supporing students who suffer from adjusting to their own social environment.
