January 27th, completion ceremony for Gang dong mentor school was held at the new auditorium of Gang dong ward office. Gang dong mentor school mentoring program was started since 2012 and held its 7th anniversary in 2017. Gang dong mentoring program was launched to help students who want to study on his or her own but cannot know what to do, or students who want to get advice from the elders. It is to whom lives in Gang dong ward or attends school in Gang dong ward. For seven years, hundreds of mentor and mentee team made an alliance at the mentoring program, and one thousand and seven hundreds of students got a sophisticated education support. All of each student at the mentoring program team gave and took good influence to each other. At the ceremony, ward president Lee hae sik, executives of Gang dong ward office and edu volunteer team attended. Also, Kim min cheol, the CEO of English education corporation, Yanadu, was invited as a lecturer. He gave an impressive lecture for students about importance of travel at the perspective of considering travel a way to encounter unexpected people and situation, the opportunity to find out what I want to do for my whole life. Twenty-some mentors and mentees were awarded excellence prizes, and teachers of allied high school were also prized. Mentor representative student and mentee representative student had lecture about what they have learned by mentoring program and their impression through a year with their mentee, mentor. Another lecturer was the elder mentor of mentor school last year, who passed one of the most prominent colleges. Now Gang dong mentor school is planning to recruit new mentor and mentee students upcoming March, 2018. |
