Subject Place for a child? Don’t worry, mom and dad! Expansion of our town’s part-time childcare

Gangdong-gu(Mayor Lee Hae-sik) will expand the part-time childcare class at the ‘Ward Office Daycare Center’ and ‘Public Godeok Forest Daycare Center’ from March 2nd.
In particular, the ‘Ward Office Daycare Center’ will be moved from the Sungnae-dong Annex, which is narrower and inferior than the demand, to the main office of the ward office on the 20th. It plans to support the coexistence of work and family and to expand the child care service.
When parents who raise babies have a sudden business, they stamp their feet repeatedly because there is no place to leave a child for a while. This problem also happens when parents have to go hospital because they feel sick or when they have to look for a job. Is there any place where a professional childcare teacher can take care of our children safely?
Part-time childcare is a personalized childcare service that uses designated time-by-hour units and pays childcare fees. Households receiving home care allowances are targets.
There were 3 part-time childcare classes operated by the Gangdong-gu. This time, two more classes were opened so there were in total 5 classes now (4 classes at Public Daycare Center and 1 class at Gangdong Childcare Support Center).
Operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, and can use up to 80 hours a month. The fee is 1,000 won per hour. Infants who are aged between 6 months and 36 months and supported family care allowance are eligible. When people need services, they can make an advance reservation by using ‘BabyLove(Portal for pregnant and children)’ or the part-time childcare call center(1661-9361).
The district plans to help domestic upbringing by increasing the number of day care facilities suitable for the growth of infants, hiring childcare teachers with expertise and qualities, and expanding the part-time childcare classes to reduce the burden of parental child rearing.
Lee Hae-sik Gangdong-gu Mayor said “The part-tine childcare that eliminates upbringing blank is a necessary system for parents and children. We will continue to expand personalized childcare support in the local level to create good environment for raising children.”
