First adoptions of the Gang-dong gu’s abandoned dog Center

10:30 of the 13th, six abandoned dogs that went through a month of rehabilitation finds new homes

Following the opening of the first animal center ‘Reborn’, on 13th the first adoption ceremony of 2018 will take place. Currently the ‘Reborn’ is providing shelter and protection to 22 abandoned pets. Among them, twelve pets are already doing through the adoption process, and on the 13th six abandoned dogs will find new homes for them. There will be the distribution and the introducing and the education session at the adoption ceremony.
Gang-dong gu’s café themed animal shelter will increase the access of the abandoned pets physically and emotionally thereby working to solve the problems regarding the abandoned animals and also at the same time getting rid of the biases involving them. ‘Reborn’ rescues the lost and abandoned dogs in their gu and rehabilitates and protects them until the adoption. Not only the residents but anyone outside Gand-dong gu can also adopt them. But only after the consulting and also not changing their mind on the adoption for the consideration period (more than 20 days). After everything regarding the adoption is set, the pets will go to their new homes by the ‘adoption ceremony’ that takes place on the second Saturday every month. After the adoption, there will be a five week education process where the new family will get to know each other and people can also acquire the basic knowledge on raising a pet.
The gang-dond gu’s animal rehabilitatiom administer said, “The center receives 3 to 4 calls regarding adoptions on weekdays and over 10 calls in average on weekends” and “we decided that every member in the family that is newly adopting a pet should undergo a consideration period since they will need time to get ready to have a new family member. Not just increasing the number of adoption, but finding a good home and preventing a dissolution in the adoption or a re-abandoning, even if it means it’s only for a one pet, is why the ‘reborn’ is here and it is its sole purpose” and reemphasized the center’s belief.
