Supporting Gangdong Residents’ Watching 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics

Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018
The XXIII Olympic Winter Games will be held for 17 days from 9 to 25 February 2018 in PyeongChang, Gangwon Province, the Republic of Korea. PyeongChang was selected as the host city of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games after receiving a majority vote at the 123rd IOC Session held on 6 July 2011 after three consecutive bids.

Gangdong-gu and its head officer Lee Hae-sik are trying hard to make 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and Paralympics successful. Gangdong-gu is going to buy 1800 tickets for several games and then share them with its workers and other residents to make atmosphere for Winter Olympics and increase people’s interest.
Especially, they are planning to use 900 tickets by public invitations, low-income groups support, and sports concerned groups support and so on to provide opportunity to view Olympic Games.
Sport entries for resident watching are Ski Jumping which is starting on 8th of February (200 supported), Freestyle Ski which is starting on 9th of February (200 supported), Snow board staring on 10th of February (200 supported), and Alpine skiing starting on 24th of February (300 supported).
In addition to game ticket, shuttle bus for the day of game, food and beverages are provided to group view appliers.
Whoever older than 13 living in Gangdong-gu is able to apply at their dong community center, and it’s due to 19th of this month on a first-come first-served basis. For more information, you may ask Gangdong-gu office Security department. (call: 02-3425-5140)
A Gangdong-gu officer said, “By supporting residents to enthusiastically participate in 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics and Paralympics, we are willing to provide opportunities for people to invite main national-policy events, and are also desiring for successful 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics in Korea.”
