Days when micro dust is severe, Seoul public transportation is free The city of Seoul is enforcing a measure taken to deal with the extreme micro dust and the bad effect it has on the citizens. When the average rate of micro dust exceeds 50mg/㎥(bad) and stay at that rate till the next day, it will be declared a ‘Seoul emergency’ and measures will be taken from 6 a.m. the next day to 9 p.m. to reduce the rate of micro dust. When this happens the next day’s city bus and subway (only in Seoul), at the first car to 9 a.m. and also at 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., will be free for everyone to use. Also, to reduce any more of the micro dust, the public parking lot will be closed, except for the cars that accompany the elderly of the physically challenged. Not only this, the second vehicle will be voluntarily take place and the construction sites will temporary close. And apart from these efforts our gu makes efforts of its own. To reduce the rate of micro dust, there will be inspections of construction sites on the micro dusts they produce. Plus, there will also be a road purifier and road water cleaning will take place. There will be a ‘against micro dust members’ which is formed with citizens and they will campaign for the prevention of the damages micro dust bring. Like this, there are lots of measures that our city takes to prevent and reduce the harm and damage micro dust brings. So, the future of our gu and also the whole city is bright and hopeful. |
