Gildong community planning organization, finds five devastated and dark alley and sets shade lightening there. “It made me smile at the end of the tiring day.” “The way back home is really fun.” These are comments of people living in Gildong recently posted on SNS. It’s a part of ‘Outreaching Community Service Center’s Community Planning Business’ planned by the head officer of Gangdong-gu(Lee Hae Sik). The project has improved the environment near alley and is sending people warm hearted messages by setting shade lightening on five different alleys. The following are messages that are shining down the streets. “No illegally throwing trash”, “CCTV recording on, walk back home relaxed”, “Wasn’t it a tiring ay? Tomorrow, you will be happier” etc Messages about crime prevention, environmental improvement are shining down the streets. The lightening is made of LED lightening, by shining certain messages or images down the road. The significance of this business is that from idea suggestion to implementation, the whole process was done by people in the community. In May, community planning organization, which constitutes of people living in Gildong found many dark and devastated alleys while patrolling the area. Those were places where old town house and abandoned houses were, therefore creating dark and gloomy atmosphere. There were many people civil complaints about those places. This project was selected s the ‘2017 warm alley community making’ business run by Gangdong-gu. This organization is working in many fields, to make Gangdong-gu a better city. |
