At the 16th of november, Gangdonggu, Seoul has held the '2017 Solstice Hanmadang' festival in Sangildong's Myungling Park. In this festival, people share some of the typical solstice foods such as patjuk, patlatte, pat rice cake, roasted sweet potato, fish cake, radish water made from Korean cabbage. People would be able to have those foods at the traditional food corner. Also, people could do programs like, city-beekeeping, which is making honey tee by oneself, doll making, woodwork experience, new years calendar making, and etc. These are programs that everyone can join. The Gangdonggu participant has said that this festival is for everyone and is trying to use less disposable chopsticks by making people bring their own ones. Their would also small concerts, children solstice play, and some dance concerts. This '2017 Solstice Hanmadang' festival was held in order to make people have some time for communication and sharing. Lee Haesik, the head of Ganddonggu, has said that he wants lots of people to join this festival and enjoy our traditional seasonal custom culture and share each other their warm mind. He also said that he wishes the festival to be a place where peole could wish a beautiful and lovely year 2018. I also wish it could be a lovely and happy year 2018 which all people could be satisfied with. Because this year has been a complicated year with lots of crimes and big events and political issues, I wish these wouldn’t happen next year. Then it would really be a nice year. |
