Subject shadow lights on alleys

Gangdong-gu is enhancing road environment and sending positive messages to citizens by installing shandow lights in Gil-dong’s 5 alleys as part of ‘town citizen center’s town planning business’. Positive messages which contain words about preventing crimes, enhancing environment such as “No trash”, “CCTV is working. Don’t worry and return home.”, “You’ve done hard work! You’ll be more happy tomorrow” are illuminating in the alleys. This project is meaningful in that idea suggestment, production, installment were all processed by local citizens. Last May, ‘town planning group’, established by citizens discovered dark and devastated alleys, patrolling town in night. There was old house and abandoned buildings without any shopping mall, fostering dark and unpleasant atmosphere. Many citizens have complained about those alleys. Town planning group have proposed the idea about ‘establising shadow light’ in order to make difference in dark, devastated alleys. They colluded the idea about these projects to the “2017 warm alley group making business” and was selected. Citizens composed “alley chat-up” and found places where shadow lights are needed by themselves, and discussed messages which they want to send in the places for shadow lights. Gil-dong town planning group environment transportation department representative Cheol-min Park(45) said, “In the past, children was playing with each other, running and sharing foods with neighbors, but now, those sceneries disappeared. I wish warm atmosphere spread in the stark alleys through this project.” Gil-dong town planning group was established in last December as part of the “town center town gorup business”, and 75 people are working in 5 departments(co-parenting, environment transportation, culture, health well-being, education for youngsters).
