Recently, as there being increased accident caused by pets, an public opinion about petiquette(which is a compound of pet and etiquette) is spreading widely. In this situation, Seoul Gangdong-gu(Lee hae-sik mayor) is carrying out various pet care business such as Gangdong pet village school(seodang) and alley cat meal place. The most noticeable business is ‘Pet Gangdong Seodang’ As pet raising house is increasing, to find the pet-causing problem solution, since last May, Gandong-gu is operating ‘Pet Gangdong Seodang’ aimed to pet and his owner. ‘Pet behavior correction counseling education’,which is opened last year, is magnified its function from temporary event to continuous and systematic permanent education program. Gangdong-gu started pet behavior professional training program last November to provide information and counseling to pet owner who cannot access education opportunity about pet raising law because of expensive training cost of facility and lack of professional training center. Pet behavior professional training education will take place for 6 months, until May, 2018, three times a week. There are some other policies that Gangdong-gu now promoting for pet and its owners. Also Gangdong-gu is receiving attention because of its alley cat shelter providing business. Last February, it made ‘Alley cat socializing shelter’ located at Gangdong-gu office 성안별관 rooftop to protect alley cats which suffer from cold and hunger. Last year, on July, it established ‘Animal welfare team’ which assume full charge of animal related task. First time of local governments, it manages Animal blog, introduces animal welfare policy, and provide animal’s habit, language, and its health common sense. |
