Subject Gangdong-gu, receive an award from the Seoul's Prime Minister's Office for the Vitalization of Bike Use

Gangdong-gu (Lee Hae sik, the chief of the Gangdong) was honored with a contribution in boosting the use of bicycle. Gangdong-gu, Seoul, announced on December 25th that it received an award from the prime minister's office at the " Excellent Organization for the Use of bicycles in 2017 " by the Ministry of the Interior and Security at the International Conference Hall of Korea Press Center at December 22th. The evaluation was conducted with the first screening of documents as well as public verification and the second examination, and the county get highly credited for its efforts to reduce the number of safety accident and create pleasant and fresh bicycle using environment in this examination. Since the year of 2010, the county has run the ' Gangdong Bike School ', a bicycle safety education center where citizens can get for free training for bicycle safety, and the ' Gangdong Bike Service Center, ' which offers bike services from bike repair to rental. In addition, we have implemented various policies to promote bicycle use including visiting a cultural site by using bicycle, a bicycle repair classroom, and Gangdong citizens riding a bike parade. Lee Hae sik, Gangdong Office President said, " In the age of 10 million people who live with bicycles, bicycles are now becoming an own culture overleaping the leisure, " and adding, " Now and for ever, we will provide the environment that Gangdong citizen can use the bicycle conveniently and safely by expanding bicycle paths and related based infrastructure, etc. "
