Gandong gu earned the glory of winning the prize of The Green World Awards In December 11th, 2017, Gandong gu won a silver prize for 2017 The Green World Awards which was held in Dubai, the Unites Arab Emirates. Green World Awards is deciding which is the best among the Prize winner of Green Apple Awards which is one of the world’s top four international environmental Awards, November, last year, 2016 Gandong gu has won a gold prize in 2016 Green Apple Awards for Excellent Environment Practice with 2020 year one man one garden project. Gandong gu which has carried forward the environment friendly urban agriculture business has been active in tending the biggest environment friendly garden in seoul and has been very supportive to extend various education of urban agriculture and they was also so active in the supply of the indoor outdoor garden box and roof garden for Gandong gu residents being able to learn the urban agriculture more easily. Lee Hae Sik, the head of Gandong gu who takes the lead in conservation of Ecosystem Zones in urban area as a 2017 World Green Ambassador gave his thought on winning the prize in Green World Awards, he said “The environment friendly urban agriculture which Gandong gu has carried forward for the realization of sustainable ecological polis is recognized around the world and also Gandong-gu will continue to try hard to serve as a role model for other cities.
