Subject 4th Grade Syndrome? Children and Parents Should Read Each Others’ minds.

Gangdong-gu, Seoul is inviting a special lecturer, Dr. Seo Cheon-Suk, who is well known as the mentor of an infant care. And it is being held on December 21st, 10 a.m. at the auditorium of the Gangdong gu offce, which is on the 5th floor of the building.


The Gu interested explained on the 19th that “Not only the word ‘8th grade syndrome’ but also the ‘4th grade syndrome’ is spread like a trend and the entering age of the puberty is getting lower. In this situation, parents are so confused. We prepared this lecture to lessen the burden of these parents.”

4th grade syndrome means that students act like they are the boss of the world and they show off a lot when they become the 4th grader.

The lecturer, Dr. Seo Cheon-Suk, is a doctor of a pediatric psychiatrist in the Hospital of the Seoul National University and he is a graduate school doctor of the Seoul National University. He is also the director of the happy children laboratory and he is currently doing a broadcasting about healing the mind of children and parents. He has published many books such as ‘Good Parents’ Diary’, ‘Reading Children’s Mind with Pictures’, ‘Parents Growing Up with Children’. Therefore, he is famous for the national mentor of an infant care.

This lecture’s topic is “Children’s Puberty, How Can We Communicate?” , and the lecturer will pose smart ways to communicate with children for the parents who are having a hard time raising a child to find a solution about it. Any people who wants to communicate well with children can participate in this lecture. We are taking applications through the Gangdong-gu homepage (slc.gangdong.go.kr) or you can apply directly through children education and care division of the Gangdong-gu office.

Lee Hae-Sik, the head of Gangdong-gu office said, “Gangdong-gu is doing a Needscall business by supporting 47 psychology consultants at 38 elementary and middle school locating within the jurisdiction. Also, we are the first gu to have the consulting window for parents and children in the 18 entire dongjumin saenteo”. He also added, “We will push ahead various business to care the mind of the parents and children.”
