Gangdong-gu (Mayor Hae Sik Lee) will hold a 'Hope Tree & Santa Expedition' launching ceremony for children's Christmas wishes with the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation Seoul Southern District Headquarters and the Gangdong District Children's Center Association.

In November, the city signed a business agreement with the Children's Foundation headquarters in Seoul (Director Cheolwoo Choi) and the Gangdong District Children's Center Association (President Eun-young Lee) for healthy growth of children.

Through this agreement, Gangdong-gu promised to provide establishment of public-private partnership system for the promotion of child welfare, and efficient linkage and follow-up management of children. For this, the city will hold the launching ceremony for Santa Expedition and set up a wish tree with children's wish card on the 'I got everything' café for disabled people located in the second office building in Gangdong-gu Office on the 15th.

In addition to this, the city held the Hope Tree Festival with the Association on November 22, and has provided scholarships, gifts and plaques to local children and residents with the donation of about KRW 10 million provided by the Children's Foundation.

"We are pleased to cooperate with the Children's Foundation and the Local Children's Center Association to promote child welfare. As a child-friendly city certified by UNICEF, we will further strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors through this "Hope Tree & Santa Expedition", so that we will do the efforts to make children happy in Gangdong.
