The fountain plaza in the front of the Gang dong district office that cools the heat in the summer by spouting cold water, changed into a plaza with shiny christmas trees greeting the end of the year. Gangdong du district office head chair that is performing divergent kind of trees every year such as furniture trees or mirror trees, created a tree called teeth of a comb shaped tree. It is drawing lots of citizens’ attention. The teeth of a comb shaped tree originated from the Amsadong site which is one of the most famous sites in the Gang dong gu. This year they worked with the ‘studio glue’ which is the company of public designing. Length and height of 8.5m, the teeth of a comb shaped tree is covered with red, yellow, and green colored ribbon and the long wood column in the middle. The teeth of a comb shaped vessel is a tool to put and keep foods in it, which is carrying the hope and desire of the ancient peoples. The Gang dong gu re interpreted the teeth of a comb shaped vessel in to a tree that has the light of hope.( This is because in korean it sounds familiar) On the top of the tree lies the vessel instead of the star. Lee Hae Shick the district officer said’ For the upcoming New year, I made this tree in the hope of spreading the message of hope to all people.‘ This unique tree will be exhibited until next year January 19th. |
