Subject Sharing kimchi for poor and elderly people

On November 24, Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Yong-sik) will host the 'Kimchi Sharing Event for Love' with students and residents in the community garden of Myung-il neighborhood park.
This event is prepared by the traditional 'food' study group made up of the graduates of Gangdong traditional food school with the money earned from the activities last year. The kimchi, which is made by students and residents using fresh and healthy ingredients, is going to be delivered to about 100 poor and elderly neighbors around the local community.
In this event, Shin-Myung middle school, Sung-Nae middle school students, and members of the traditional 'food' study group who participated in the school gardening program and learned the importance of agriculture will join together
The students participating in the event are young urban farmers who participated in farming classes since April. Currently, the district has a total of 31 schools, and operates eco-friendly school gardens. In addition to providing students with education programs, they are also carrying out various programs to promote children's emotions, such as vivid ecological experiences, and healthy school life.
The traditional 'food' study group that organizes the event is a voluntary organization of residents to promote traditional food and culture. They have held traditional food classes for the students of the Gangdong traditional food school graduates, and are participated in promoting healthy food culture and expanding traditional foods.
Gangdong-gu officials said "The students and residents participating in this event are aware of the importance of healthy meals and traditional food through urban agriculture. I hope that Kimchi, which is filled with love and care, will help elderly neighbors throughout the cold winter season. "
