Gangdong-gu announded on October 22 that it will open the nation's first abandoned animal adopting cafe called "Gangdong Reborn Center".
Gangdong-gu is the first place to organize a cafe where can be abandoned animals’ shelters and enjoyed by local residents

The center was built to improve the awareness of abandoned animals and raise the rate of their adoption. The name of the center, Reborn, means that newborns will be born through adoption, and the animals and owners will be bound again through education.

In the Reborn Center, many abandoned animals living in the hall are protected for a certain period of time. Also, people who are willing to take care of these animals are educated about the companion animals. Moreover, education for correcting the problem behavior of their companion animals is conducted.

On the first floor of the center, there is animal adopting center, a dog playground, and a coffee shop that can be a place for 20 to 25 dogs. Educations for raising abandoned animals are held on the second floor, and the third floor and the rooftop are used as places for problem behavior correction programs and training.

The center operates from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm every day. On Monday, however, public access is limited.
