November 16th, 2017, the ward head of Gangdong gu, Lee Haesik, announced the project which is planning to tend a vegetable garden in fly-tipping area and crime area. This was projected as one of the Amsa City Reclamation Project(암사도시재생사업) for making Gangdong gu more clear and safe city. It is planning to begin in earnest since 2018. Tending the vegetable gardens are now already on trial in four places, Gaenari Kindergarten as you see in the picture, and around the public parking lot of Amsa 1-dong. And it is evaluated as having achieved good results. The gardens are going to be set up for free if it is tended on unused and misused space. And it is also possible to donate half of the crops if the residents of the alleys in which the gardens are built want to grow the gardens directly. On the other hand, farmland will be used to manage the garden, and the crops are used for public purposes. If you want to tend a vegetable garden to make Gangdong gu more clear and beautiful, you can apply for it at the Gangdong gu Office of Urban Agriculture with the consent of the residents around the area which you apply. When the application is received, the ward office going to directly visits the site to check whether it is possible to establish it, and designate the farming group.
