There will be a election for ‘The second Gangdong youth commissioner’ in October 20th in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. Gangdong-gu is running ‘Gangdong-gu adolescent council’, which is composed of teenagers between 9 to 18 years old. They run that council since last year. 30 teenagers will work at the second youth council. 25 commissioners will be elected by the election in October 20th. and 5 commissioners will be elected in minor class to enable them to participate. There are 57 candidates in this election. Each candidates have been campaigning since September 18th. They are campaigning for election by making presentations on promises or doing public relations exercise. Candidates assert their promises such as ‘Giving the option to wear school skirt or pants for girls’, ‘School Cafeteria investigation’, ‘Inviting Famous YouTuber’, ‘Teenager YouTube contents creating contest’ or ‘Building Youth Sinmungo’ etc. You can take a look these electoral commitments by searching ‘Gangdong-gu youth council’ page in Facebook or requesting friend to ‘Gangdonggu Office Children-friendly City’ in Kakaoplus. Polling place is Gangdonggu office, Gangdong Art Center, and Community Center. Teenagers between 9 to 18 years old who live in Gangdong-gu or are student of school in Gangdong-gu can vote. Voters need student cards, teenager cards or certificates to vote. Head of Gangdong-gu Office said, “I look forward to much attention from teenagers in this election to deliver many teenager’s opinion and extend teenager’s opportunities for political participation.
