Gangdong-gu will host the 4th multicultural couple marriage ceremony on Iljasan Nature Park on October 24th. Families, friends and relatives of them will attend and celebrate the marriage of multicultural couples. Couples in this ceremony are immigrants from various countries around the world such as Vietnam, the Philippines and Kyrgyzstan. Five couples of Hongcheon area who have developed love beyond the border will have a meaningful time as a true couple at the Hongcheon County Multicultural Family Support Center. It will be an event which has a special meaning for multicultural families who could not have a wedding due to various difficult circumstances. The wedding ceremony was sponsored by Samsung Electronics and designed to support marriage for multicultural families who are having financial difficulties. Samsung Electronics will give the couples the right to purchase home appliances such as dresses, wedding photography, and wedding ceremonies as wedding gifts. Prior to the wedding ceremony, the five brides and grooms had a time to improve their relationship and experience each other’s culture. The wedding ceremony will be held in the order of marriage ceremony and reception, and the group for honeymoon will also leave for two nights and three days in Jeju Island. The multicultural wedding ceremony is run by private donations by various corporations such as the Social Welfare Corporation, Sejong Foundation, Let's Run, Beautiful Store, Myeongseong Church, and Onnuri Church. It is the fourth wedding ceremony this year, starting in 2014, and a total of 15 multicultural couples have married. At this wedding ceremony, the director of the Family Business Institute, Kang Hyeong Jang, will make a lecture, and hope people will celebrate and pray for a beautiful combination of multicultural couples and their happy future. "We have organized this event to create an environment in which multicultural families can adapt to our society naturally without prejudice and discrimination and settle down as a stable member of the community. We will make a beautiful Gangdong that understands and acknowledges the difference, “said Kang Dong-gu.
