Subject The multi-cultural wedding in Gangdong-gu

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Hae-sik) will host the '4th Multicultural couple marriage ceremony' at Ilja Mountain Nature Park Grass Square for multicultural couples who did not have a wedding ceremony on October 24th. Family and relatives will celebrate the marriage of multicultural couples.

The multicultural couples, who will be married, are immigrants from Vietnam, the Philippines and Kyrgyzstan in five pairs. It will be meaningful for the multicultural families who haven’t had a wedding due to various difficult circumstances.

In September, prior to the wedding ceremony, the 5 couples had the opportunity to improve their marital relationship and spend time having cultural experiences by making 'caricature T-shirts' as a part of pre-marriage education. Also, the couples had two times of outdoor shooting at the Olympic Park.

This wedding ceremony will be held in the order of marriage ceremony and reception, and the group honeymoon will also leave for two nights and three days in Jeju Island.

The multicultural wedding ceremony is run by private donations such as the Social Welfare Corporation Sejong Foundation, Let's Run CCC, Beautiful Store, Myeongseong Church, and Onnuri Church. It is the fourth wedding ceremony this year, starting in 2014, and a total of 15 multicultural couples have jointly married.

At this wedding ceremony, the director of the Family Business Institute, Kang Hak Jong, will make a lecture, and ‘hope and accompany’ incorporated association will sing at the wedding to celebrate and pray for a beautiful combination of multicultural couples and a happy future.

The mayor of Gangdong-gu Lee Hae Sik said, "This event is held in order to create an environment where multicultural families can adapt to our society without prejudice and discrimination. We will continue to make Gangdong a beautiful place where people understand and recognize the difference people have with each other through various programs for multicultural families. "
