the Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong Have you heard about the Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong, which will be the 22nd by this year? There has been a program recently, which is identified as the representative program of the Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong, The Korean Peninsula Primitive Exploration Street Parade has been held during the festival period from 5 o'clock, 10/14, which is held all along the 1.8 kilometer stretch which connects Cheonil Middle School, Amsa Station and the Archaeological Site in Amsa-dong. This program is known to be based on a 'sound of ancient times' theme, where props that produce various sounds will be performed, with a avriety of dances and performances being held at the Amsa Station Spot, which is a pre-designated point, as the perfect highlight of the festival in which the parade groups and audience can become one. The exciting drumming of the Nalmoe drum dance will open the parade followed by 70 prehistoric sculptures including mammoths, archaeopteryx and comb-pattern pottery. It has been announced that there will be a huge parade featuring over 1,000 residents including those from the community center and culture center, artists, clubs, organizations and schools, and a professional performance team of about 300 people including a children and young adult team, market merchant group and fire station brigade, who will be performing with a total of about 1,600 participating residents from all regions. In addition. it is said that the parade will be divided into 6 village zones, with each zone highlighting the characteristics of their village. At the Amsa Station Spot and main stage, exciting village-based and zone-based performances will be held. Moreover, parade participants will be given a badge and the winning zone will be selected on site and given a victory flag. Related to this very festival, Gangdonggu official had said, "The Korean Peninsula Primitive Exploration Street Parade of the 22nd Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong is more than just performances and parades. As the representative resident-led content of the Pre-Historic Culture Festival of Gangdong, residents create and participate in the festival and we expect it to become an exciting event that attracts positive responses from residents."
