Subject The First Generation of Korean Cartoon, Gang-pool

Gang-pool cartoon street had been directed for one year, from 2012 to 2013, and artists including Gang-pool writer, volunteers and local residents participated in this event. They drew 23 murals and the new wall paintings were added in 2014. And now, because of rebuilding and some other reasons, total 49 murals have kept in the alley of Sung-an village.

On the Gang-pool cartoon street, there exists a ‘cartoon street commentator'. ‘Cartoon street commentator’ helps people understand the flow of an art and have an interest in these paintings, even to the people who don’t know the original version, by explaining painting pieces.

Cartoon of the Gang-pool writer was much loved through entertaining materials and stories. In this, he gives readers a message that “we are the creature that counteract each other and live together through embracing warmth”. While enjoying the Gang-pool cartoon street, the emotional impacts that we felt when we were reading his cartoons, would be felt again.

The Gang-pool cartoon street now becomes the proudness of Gang-dong through years of efforts.
