On September 25, Seoul Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Hae-sik) held the opening ceremony of "Gangdong Women’s Human Resource Development Center". The Gangdong Women's Human Resource Development Center provides one-stop job support services such as career counseling, professional job training, and employment linkage to help women with career interruptions and unemployed women work. The Gangdong Women’s Human Resource Development Center provides various programs to support women's economic activities like ‘Vocational education and training for employment and start-up’ such as national free vocational education, job reemployment training for unemployed people, job performance improvement training for employees who have job, ‘Employment support service’ such as resume & a letter of self-introduction clinic, psychological examination about job, group counseling and 'Post-management service' to help work well after employment such as workplace adaptation, basic workplace training. Particularly, the ‘Group Counseling’ program helps 10 ~ 12 participants to get counseling together so that they can improve their self-esteem and establish their job values. Therefore, this ‘Group Counseling’ is a program that women who want to return to society will notice. In addition, the Gangdong Women’s Human Resource Development Center will also be used as a community space that can be used by local residents as well as women, by operating lectures such as travel English and history education Gangdong-gu, which was certified as a ‘Women-Friendly City’ by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family last December, has been making efforts to attract women-related facilities. As a result, it opened the ‘Gangdong New Work Center’ last October and the ‘Gangdong Women’s Human Resource Development Center’ was opened this year. These two institutions will serve as a comprehensive support center for economic and social independence of women and as a major base for promoting economic activities of women in Gangdong - gu. “I hope that the Women's Human Resource Development Center will provide opportunities for local women to increase their employment and social participation opportunities" the Mayor Lee Hae-sik said, "I will continue to make women-friendly city Gangdong-gu a happy city for women."
