Subject 2017 Gangdong-gu Brain Fade Contest

Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Yong-sik) will hold '2017 Gangdong-gu Brain Fade Contest’ at Seoul Amsadong ruins on October 14th, during the 22nd Gangdong Prehistoric Cultural Festival.
This competition is hosted by Gangdong-gu and is planned and organized by the Oops Yang Company. The concept is to "relax students and busy modern people's minds in Amsadong ruins." 'Brain Fade' refers to 'being hollow with no thought'. In the past, it seemed to refer to "people who do not seem to be doing things that seem like they are spending years, but now the concept is changing to “resting on a weary brain, getting new energy and reminding of creative ideas".
Participants in this contest lightly do ‘Brain Fade Stretch’ and begin in earnest. The winner is determined by how well the participants have been stable in the 90 minutes of the tournament, and if they nod off or check a phone, they will be disqualified.
At the end of the contest, the participants will be ranked according to their heart rate and spectator votes, and a trophy will be awarded to the contest winner. In addition, some of the participants who participated in different clothes, such as prehistoric primitive clothes, will be awarded special prizes, and participation certificates will be given to all participants.
Residents who want to participate in the contest will visit the official website (http://www.spaceoutcompetition.com) and the Gandgong-gu Office website(http://www.gangdong.go.kr) from September 22 to 29. You can apply regardless of region and age,or you can join a team with your friends or family.
Gangdong-gu said, "In a busy modern society people are anxious about resting without doing anything. However, the most important thing for modern people who are tired of everyday life is the spiritual rest. This event, held in the Amasadong ruins, where the pre-historic calm of prehistoric times is alive, will relax the weary minds of modern people, and I hope we can provide some time to do so."
The event will consist of a program of the 22nd Gangdong Prehistoric Cultural Festival from October 13th to 15th. Participants will participate in a street parade, a rock parade festival, a prehistoric family dance party DJ KOO(Koo Gun Yeop), Neolithic food performance, and fireworks performances.
