Subject Artistic Recycling

What do you think of ‘Recycling’? Do you think that ‘Recycling’ can be ‘Artistic’? Here, there is “Gangdong-gu Recycle Center” which is a place to recycle artistic. This center was made in 2014 for the purpose of spreading cultures of recycling. This center reuses waste materials to create recycled things which is useful so it can sells people its works cheap – it even donate part of the proceeds into society for protect environment. Furthermore, this recycling center have been m​ultifariously used for institution of recycling education programs, open-studio and art shop.

“Gangdong-gu Recycle Center” (930 Sangnam-ro, Gangdong-gu) is now cosign operated by ㈜리싸이클시티 located in Godeok, Gangdong. It opens from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm, open all year round. This center consist of two floors. The first floor is a space for collecting and selling reusable things such as furniture, home appliances, miscellaneous goods, clothing, and uniforms. And the second floor is the creation and exhibition space of about 40 residents and handicraft creators in about 20 fields including jewelry, woodwork, dyeing, rugs, environment-friendly paints and leather. It collects household appliances and furniture through home visits, and also delivers large items when they are purchased. If the product fails within 3 ~ 6 months after purchase, free repair or exchange is also available.

“Gangdong-gu recycling center” is practicing of saving resources, reduction of environmental pollution, healthy consumption culture and sharing by repurposing, repairing and recycling of second-hand goods that can be reused and recycled. If this center vitalize more, soon, Gangdong-gu will become a most environmentally-friendly area in Seoul.
