Subject Ceremony of the gender equality week

On July 4th, a ceremony for the gender equality week was held at the Gangdong Community Hall.

Since the enactment of the Basic Law on Women's Development in 1995, it has been commemorated as a women's week from July 1 to July 7, endeavoring to protect the basic rights of women. The enactment of the Framework Act on Women's Development was also reflected in the recognition that our society was a highly discriminatory society, and that we should look after women well.

Since then, our society has developed in many fields, and as the overall indicator has risen to the level of developed countries, we have changed the Framework Act on Gender Equality and the Gender Equality Week, both of which favor women's provisions.

On this day, a celebrity’s special lecture entitled "You Are Sufficient" was held by Chung Hye-shin , doctor of a psychiatrist. She is also a bestselling author, and she has gained sympathy for bringing in the audience's natural participation with the open theme.

At the ceremony, there were a beautiful choir of Gangdong-gu Women's Choir, a panflute performance by service organizations such as the fruit of love in Gangdong-gu, and a sand art performance by artist, Shin Mi-ryung.

Despite a misunderstanding about gender equality and a social atmosphere that was not controversial, it was time to convey the message that the sand art performance with commentary is a beautiful world that we make together.

The ceremony was attended by the Head of a Gang Dong-gu, Mr. Lee Hae Sik and related people, and commendation ceremonies were given to the residents and volunteers who were trying to realize gender equality in daily life, such as women and human rights issues and low fertility campaigns.

During the event, the Day Fair for gender equality was held in the lobby on the 1st to 3rd floors.
In the fair, women-friendly city, Gangdong! It is a meaningful and informative information center with programs such as informing, sexual violence, prostitution prevention campaigns, women safety campaigns, women's employment counseling, health care counseling and information provision.
