Subject Amsadong's cultural remains

Seoul Amsadong's remains show the life of people from 6000 years ago, people who lived in the New Stone Age. Amsadong's ruins is the biggest dwelling site of the New Stone Age. This ruin is close to the ruins of the next age, the Bronze Age. This shows the close relationship between the two ages and it also provides evidence of agricultural life and this is a very important evidence for archeologists. The remains where known as the remains of the New Stone Age at 1925, when many partials of the potteries used at that time. In 1967, 1968, 1971 from 1975, and in 1983 there were investments in large scales and lots of specific evidence where found.
As the first place that was ever found as a dwelling site of the New Stone Age, Amsadong's ruins are estimated to be as old as 3000 to 4000 years old. At that time, most people lived in small houses made by digging the ground. Because this remain locates near Hangang, fishing was the main method for people to live. This leaded them to make lots of different tools used for fishing. Also, evidence such as arrows shows that they hunted in the woods as well.
One of the famous artifacts found at that site is the Comb pattern pottery. This pottery is made by a very complex way and there are lots of different shapes. Because there were no machines, people had to make each one by hand. These potteries are now found in every place in Korea and these are thought to be used to preserve berries and other foods.
