The 22nd Gangdong Prehistoric Culture Festival will be held in October 13th to 15th. The festival place is always Amsadong Prehistoric Dwelling Site. The concept of this festival is ‘People are in our mind’.

The primitive exploration street parade is the representative of the festival. It provides us a lot of attractions that symbolize a past, present and future. And also, it shows us some gigantic structures like a mammoth, a dugout hut, a comb-pattern pottery. This street parade will be running for 1.8km that includes Chonil Middle school, Amsa station, Amsadong. 600 of professional performers and local residents will participate in this parade. So Gangdong-gu is going to recruit 450 resident participants. 300 of them will participate in the parade which symbolizes past and present, and 150 will participate in the parade and performance which represent the future. Everyone who wants to participate in this event should fill out an application form and send the e-mail by September 8th.

On October 14th, the second day of the festival, the Gijisi Juldarigi event will take a place. Gijisi Juldarigi was started to wish richness and peace of a year and for the harmony of the people in Dangjin-gun. Its history is already 500 years old. It will be the rivalry between 200 people from the east and 200 people from the west. Residents who want to take part in should apply for the close Community Service Center by September 22nd.

Gangdong-gu is recruiting 3500 volunteers to help the event by September 8th. They will play a role to help performance events, translate, take a photo, maintain cleanliness, keep safety for the street parade, operate programs.
