- Gandong-Gu council, rounding off the 245th provisional council-

‘Crime victim protection’ and ‘Prevention of Lonely death’, etc 8 agendas

Gandong-Gu(chairman, Jo Dongtak) council wrapped up the seven-day with the second regular session of 245th provisional council in July 19th.

In this provisional council, Amendment of the portion of Gandong-Gu ordinance(chief author, Kim Yeonhoo), Crime victim protection and support in Gandong-Gu(chief author, Shin Yoonjae), Prevention of Lonely death in Gangdong-Gu(chief author, Shin Mooyeon), etc, 6 ordinances and 2 motions, in total 8 agendas was dealt with that are germane to Gandong-Gu residents.
Closing the council, the chairman, Jo Dongtak said “In this council, I’m glad to have dealt with many meaningful ordinances that can contribute to human rights and promotion of welfare of Gangdong-Gu residents through protecting and supporting the second-class citizens” and “Please make a thorough check of the element that can threaten the security of public facilities in upcoming peak vacation season and pay more attention to the elderly and Young who are vulnerable to sultriness in hot weather for them to stay summer well.

-Research council for practice life politics, dreaming 'Sustainable Gandong'-

In june 26th, Gandong-Gu council, research council for practice life politics(chairman, Lee Junhyung) visited Yeoju city council in search of policy suitable for Gandong-Gu as a historical and cultural city.
The members had a meeting with members of the city including chairman of council for economic planning and development and heard out the key that captured the tourist’s taste through developing the marine tour program such as marine cable car and romantic theme making the most of port city characteristics and the progress.
The members said, “Instead of finding out something new, making the most of regional charm is the solution of sustainable development to preserve the environment and revive local economy” and “Sharing the data from this inspection with the members, we will consider what direction Gandong-Gu develop and utilize the only resources Gandong-Gu has together.”
