Subject Gangdong-gu promoting the success of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics

Lee Hae-sik(이해식), head of Gangdong-gu, for the success of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics attended the unveiling ceremony of the publicity tower and sculptures of mascots Suhorang(수호랑), Bandabi(반다비) for the success of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics on November 25 at Cheonho Sageori(천호 사거리). Lee Hae-sik and local residents from Gangwon Province and other officers participated in the meeting to pray for a successful hosting of the Winter Olympics. Gangdong-gu also operates the publicity tower at Cheonho Sageori, as well as Gildong Sageori(길동 사거리). Lee Hae-sik, chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan ward chiefs Council(서울시구청장협회장), also signed a task agreement with Gangwon province to host the successful hosting of Pyeongchang Winter Games in July. He said, “The Winter Olympic Games will be held after 160 days.” And also he said that “This Olympics is a worldwide festival and also a national event. This is the second time that South Korea holding big events. I’m planning to actively promote local residents and employees to have an interest in and participate in the Olympic Games.” Gangdong-gu will proactively reflect on the budget for the next year's budget for Pyeongchang, Olympics such as support for tickets, transportation, local meals, accommodations, etc. In terms of national events, according to Public Official Election Act, support for purchasing tickets for residents is possible as authoritative interpretation accepted. Other cities in Seoul, as well as Gangdong-gu, have gathered for the successful hosting of the Pyeongchang Olympics. Seongbuk-gu(성북구) also held the same unveiling ceremony as like what held in Gang Dong-gu on August 12th.
