Gangdong-gu (the head of Gangdong – Lee Hae Sick) recruits candidate for participating 『The second Gangdong-gu Youth Assembly (제2대 강동구 청소년 의회)』 till September 14th. Any adolescent 9 to 18 years old who resides in Gangdong-gu or attends school in Gangdong can apply it. The candidates of Youth Assembly will run an online or offline election campaign targeting the voter for a month (September 18th – October 18th). The voters are 9 to 18 years old adolescents 41,1035 living in Gangdong-gu. The election will be held in October 20th by a direct election. Through voting 25 members will be elected and 10 members will be selected by minorities recommendation for the guarantee of the right to participate without discrimination, hence, 35 members of Youth Assembly will be chosen. The process of the voting is planned and progressed by the’ Youth Assembly Election Commission’ consists of student council of middle or high school in the region and the first members of Youth Assembly who do not participate this election. Furthermore, an advisory committee consists of members of Gangdong-gu Council, teachers, and parents, college students who are interested in Youth Assembly will assist the constitution and management of it. The elected members will be given the certificate of election, the badge, and the opportunity to be educated about fortifying legislative process, discussion technique, and the rules of procedure. After the constitution, they will experience the substantive activity of assembly such as proposal of policy and deliberation of youth participating budget system through agenda discovery investigation activity. The head of Gangdong-gu Lee Hae Sick requested the participation and attention of adolescent. He mentioned that “the adolescent’s interest on democracy and politics is increasing and as the Youth Assembly greets the second generation, I hope the Youth Assembly settle as a representational organization to realize democracy.” |
