Subject The Libraries in Gangdong

One of the pride of Gangdong-gu is that there are many libraries providing people a place to find peace. There are over 30 libraries in Gangdong-gu including 13 privates. Especially, the libraries except privates that means public libraries, are organized with 4 public libraries, 1 children library, and 20 small libraries, are all consolidated under the management of guoffice. Libraries consolidated are useful and facilitate people to use them because you can use all of 25 libraries unconstrainedly if you had just joined a Gangdong-gu integrated library(강동구통합도서관). You can also return the borrowed books any libraries, not even just that place where you borrowed them. If it is possible, I recommend that you receive a membership card from the the Gangdong-gu integrated library. You should pay only 1,000 won to get a card, then you can take advantages from any libraries program.

The Gangdong-gu integrated library is not only an institution borrowing books but also the center of cultural lives offers people various programs. Many of high school and middle school students have been doing volunteer works in the library such as helping elementary school students’ studying and reading English books for kids. In addittion, sometimes library becomes education institution and provide many interesting programs regarding the books like literature lecture, debate, and introducing books contest. And there are some classes for elderly like education about using smart phone and Internet.

In this way, the libraries in Gangdong-gu become a center of resident’s lives and the place where give people an energizer. This is a good sign means people consider the libraries intimate. From this time forward, It will be required the efforts to develop the libraries.
