The elderly who lives a long life have one thing in common.; brisk walking and moving around. Gandong gu, which is the top sports community opening the generation of ‘Healthy 100’, is now running a health center to manage the chronical diseases and also administering various sports programs for the health promotion of the citizens. One of the programs is ‘Gandong Greenway Walk contest’. The contest is held on every 4th Saturday from March to October annually. Usually it is held around the natural park in Iljasan and depending on the theme of the contest, it can be at Godeoksan Jarak-gil Trail or at walkway nearby the Han river in summertime. Especially in May, you can appreciate a full blown flower garden in Herb park. Isn’t it happy to imagine that you can enjoy herb flower garden breathing a fresh air in an early morning? The contest held at walkway near the Han River includes cultural activities such as ‘Moonlight music concert’, ‘Watching movies program’ for all families to enjoy the evening time together. There is a recreation time for all the participants and performance by local participating groups before the ceremony. Also, there is a photographic zone during the walk. You can feel not only the pleasure of walking alone but also the joy of walking together. Here is the plan for 2017 Greenway walk contest.
