A Non-Summit Conference in Gangdong-gu


In July 21th, a festival named ‘Global Youth Talk Concert-talk, Myway’ was held in Gaongdong Art Center in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. There were many youth from various countries around the world to participate this concert. It seems that a global conference was taking place at there. But these people were participants of ‘Global Internship’, which is conducted by Gangdong-gu.

This program is for foreign students who is studying in universities which are located in Seoul. The chosen students will work as intern in Gangdong-gu Office. This unique internship was conducted to provide experience of Korea’s autonomous administration. Besides this program would widen the chance to communicate with foreign youths.

The interns who started to work in July will do various thing until August 11th in Gangdong-gu Office. In addition to their duty, they will visit many major facilities in Gangdong-gu, and they will attend many various debates once a week.

Global Interns said that by Gangdong-gu’s Internship, they could make their dream comes true to study in Korea and they could learn Korean naturally by working in the Gangdong-gu Office. Moreover they also said that after they worked at the Gangdong-gu office, they became to love Korea more than before, when they learned Korea just in their universities by English.
As Gangdong-gu, they could get 10 Global honorary ambassador who are family-like.

Gangdong-gu will recruit new foreign students interns in this winter because ‘Global Internship’ had a good response. ‘The Non-Summit Conference without Boundary in Gangdong-gu’ will be held for a long time.
