Gangdong-gu awarded in TDM evaluation, securing KRW 100M in incentive

- 9 consecutive years of winning incentive for Seoul’s TDM evaluation 

 Gangdong-gu (Head: Lee Soo-hee) announced that it was awarded by the Seoul Metropolitan Government in the transportation demand management (TDM) evaluation targeting municipal districts in 2022, being selected to receive an incentive of KRW 100 million. It was the 9th consecutive year of winning Seoul's transportation demand management area.

 Seoul conducts annual evaluations for the transportation demand management of 25 autonomous districts. This year's evaluation included 10 detailed indexes and 4 areas of special policies, such as allotment of traffic congestion, corporate traffic demand management, traffic demand focused management and Gangdong-gu was selected as an excellent autonomous district.

 In particular, Gangdong-gu's various policies and efforts to activate public transportation and resolve civil complaints on traffic inconveniences, such as bicycle-related policies, adjustment of the village and city bus routes, reduction in car use, management of traffic-congested areas, and improvement of driving environment, were highly evaluated.

 Yoon Hee-eun, Director of the Transportation Administration Division, said, “We thank the residents and businesses for actively using public transportation. We will commit to creating a convenient and pleasant transportation environment to promote the use of public transportation.”
